Inspired by others

This was sent to me part of junk mail, I kept the best part as it was not junk:)

Albert Einstein did not speak until he was 4-years-old and did not read until he was 7. His parents thought he was “sub-normal,” and one of his teachers described him as “mentally slow, unsociable, and adrift forever in foolish dreams.” He was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. He did eventually learn to speak and read. Even to do a little math.
Winston Churchill failed sixth grade. He was subsequently defeated in every election for public office until he became Prime Minister at the age of 62. He later wrote, “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never -in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never, Never, Never, Never give up.”
As a young man, Abraham Lincoln went to war a captain and returned a private. Afterwards, he was a failure as a businessman. As a lawyer in Springfield, he was too impractical and temperamental to be a success. He turned to politics and was defeated in his first try for the legislature, again defeated in his first attempt to be nominated for congress, defeated in his application to be commissioner of the General Land Office, defeated in the senatorial election of 1854, defeated in his efforts for the vice-presidency in 1856, and defeated in the senatorial election of 1858. He later became the 16th President of the United States of America.
Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland. In fact, the proposed park was rejected by the city of Anaheim on the grounds that it would only attract riff raff.
Henry Ford could not read nor write, failed and went broke five times in business before he succeeded.
As an inventor, Thomas Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail a thousand times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.” Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.”
Louis Pasteur was only a mediocre pupil in undergraduate studies and ranked 15th out of 22 students in chemistry.”

When Bell telephone was struggling to get started, its owners offered all their rights to Western Union for $100,000. The offer was disdainfully rejected with the pronouncement, “What use could this company make of an electrical toy.” And how many people have a telephone today?
Sigmund Freud was booed from the podium when he first presented his ideas to the scientific community of Europe. He returned to his office and kept on writing.
Rocket scientist Robert Goddard found his ideas bitterly rejected by his scientific peers on the grounds that rocket propulsion would not work in the rarefied atmosphere of outer space.

Charles Schultz had every cartoon he submitted rejected by his high school yearbook staff. Oh, and Walt Disney wouldn’t hire him.
After Fred Astaire’s first screen test, the memo from the testing director of MGM, dated 1933, read, “Can’t act. Can’t sing. Slightly bald. Can dance a little.” He kept that memo over the fire place in his Beverly Hills home.

When Lucille Ball began studying to be actress in 1927, she was told by the head instructor of the John Murray Anderson Drama School, “Try any other profession.”
The first time Jerry Seinfeld walked on-stage at a comedy club as a professional comic, he looked out at the audience, froze, and forgot the English language. He stumbled through “a minute-and a half” of material and was jeered offstage. He returned the following night and closed his set to wild applause.
Charlie Chaplin was initially rejected by Hollywood studio chiefs because his pantomime was considered “nonsense.” Decca Records turned down a recording contract with The Beatles with the evaluation, “We don’t like their sound. Groups of guitars are on their way out.” After Decca rejected the Beatles, Columbia records followed suit.
In 1954, Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired Elvis Presley after one performance. He told Presley, “You ain’t goin’ nowhere, son. You ought to go back to drivin’ a truck.”
Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and preferred playing his own compositions instead of improving his technique. His teacher called him “hopeless as a composer.” And, of course, you know that he wrote five of his greatest symphonies while completely deaf.

27 publishers rejected Dr. Seuss’s first book, “To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.
Like the old saying goes, “If at first you don’t succeed…simply try, try and try again.”  Whatever you decide to do with your life is the right thing to do.  Yet, when it comes to making your dreams become reality, the only way that you cannot fail is to never ever never give up!  With persistence, patience and perseverance, you can truly accomplish anything!

Will try to add more to this.....or anyone who could add to this

A smile open's up each new day
It lightens my heart and am ready to play.

Poems I wrote

I thought I'd share two things,  a poem wrote  not long back and a poem song wrote ages ago.

© Magic belief

Do you believe in magic?
Have you ever wondered,
This crazy life’s meanings.
The skeptic’s will prove
And diminish your beliefs.
But many a skeptic’s have been
Reverted, understanding that all
Is not known and still analysing
But cannot go past that cloud of
Doubt.
But if you have a little wonder
And dream a little yonder
You may open your heart,
To the excitement that your soul
Is meaning to seek.
Have you any wonder
To the planetary splendour,
The twinkling stars in the sky
Has to teach.
So open your mind
There is so much in learning.
What scientist still finding
And our spirit is yearning to reach.

Rainbows

Rainbows remind me the beauty deep inside me.

All the colours I cannot hide,

That lives deep inside me-e-e-e.

Feelings.

Do you ever feel;

You have forgotten how to feel,

Then you are reminded by the colours of the rainbow,

That life is far more,……..

There's not just one rainbow in this life.
There all in disguise,

It's in your own eyes to behold,

And your heart to feel,

The hidden colours of love.

Colourful kisses-s-s-s "and " colourful words-s-s-s .

Look to the stars friend,

There's colours beyond them.

They glitter in our mind.
There's a connection, that resides in us all,

And the colours is there to remind us all,

How to feel, feel with our heart.

And I tell you, tell you o-o-o.

Rainbows s-s-s-s,

Rainbows remind me the beauty deep inside me.

All the colours I cannot hide,

That lives deep inside me e-e-e.

la~ la ~ la ~ la Once upon a time there and then,

Things to do

If your like me and need something to help you be more organized, been trying mind maps, great way, to do, "to do list", for the day or week. Also mind maps great for brain storming, its been said that we use 10 percent of our brains, mind maps help you to use more of your brain, left & right brain, am new to this and already I can see this as a great tool for learning languages, or help you memorize before exams. The idea is to draw a centre theme or write, use colour. Give you two links utube and smiley actually one more so you get a good idea of it, great studying tool to teach your kids, wish I learnt this earlier. If you want to try something different, how about a Vision Board, good way to find your dreams and goals.

Disney wish

Will treasure it

“Why you crying Mum’?

“Well sometimes I feel sad. Like you when you fall down, you cry from the pain, I feel pain in my heart, just a lot of things I am thinking about love don't worry your mind over it".

"Okay mum". A worried expression crossed Elvina’s face.

"You know when you were, very little, when you were in Mummy's tummy. I loved flowers, I couldn't get enough of them, their beauty, their sweet flowery scent and I'd feel at peace. I knew that I would have a very special child. Here you are now, eight years old, a very spirited young lady, a joy to my heart and to many who see your lovely smile".

"Aah, thanks mum". Elvina gave her mum a big warm hug.

"Now run along now child, it is a beautiful day, it's a shame to waste the day all couped up inside the house with me".
"I love to be here with you mum, but okay, I feel like going to see all the flowers in our garden".

With a rush of excitement, Elvina ran into the garden. There were so many beautiful flowers in the garden, Elvina’s mum loved to do the gardening in her spare time.

Near the end of the garden was a little path that lead deep amongst trees, it was a protected forest area to protect wildlife. It was a joy to a young child to see all the lovely wildlife, to see many different birds, possums, even koala's and wombat's plus many other different varieties of wildlife.

Elvina followed the path that lead to a stream, there Elvina spotted the most beautiful flower. Inquisitively, Elvina drew closer. "Wow, how lovely", Elvina said with awe.

It was the most deepest of pinks and in the centre the pollen powdered with purples, red and blue, the sun shinning down on it made it appear glittery and shimmered. It was a magical sight for anyone's eye's especially for Elvina. Elvina contemplated on picking the flower, but thought not.

"No take it", said a soft whispery voice. There appeared from nowhere, what looked like the daintiest little fairy Elvina had ever seen. Not that she'd seen any fairy's before. " Wow, where did you come from, are you a fairy", Elvina said with mixed excitement and fascination.
"You could call me that, but I am the guardian of flowers, that connects your world from our world of magic dreams. Your world and our world were once only one world, but things have changed and became two worlds, separated. The flower is the only connection that can bring back people to our world".

Why are there two worlds, what happened", Elvina said, still many questions on her mind. "People forgot the beauty in their world, some only saw suffering and pain. Peoples fears brought shadows in their world. And in the shadows there you will find anger and much unhappiness". Elvina shivered, thinking of the shadows. "Fear not my child, there is hope". A glimmer of hope sparkled in Elvina’s eye's "What is it"?
The fairy pointed with her dainty hand at the flower, "look child what do you feel"?
Elvina looked at the flower, "well, it's very beautiful". "Yes but what is it you feel, in your heart"? "It feels good to look at it", Elvina said, not knowing really what to say.
"That's right child, when you look at the flower, it makes you feel good. It shows you how beautiful the world is. It is the image of hope for people to find their innocence within. Go now child bring the flower with you, give the gift of the flower to someone you love. When they see beauty of it, they will be reminded of their happiness and peace within".
"Will I see you again"?
"You will child, but once you grow older, you will not see me again".
"Why"?

"When you grow older, you will find many difficulties in life, that will lead you away from your heart, but if you remind yourself of beauty and innocence in you, and spread your love through giving, you will find many joys. Be reminded always, when you take the time to look at the flowers, feel what's inside of you. The beauty in flowers is the beauty in people, people have forgotten".
"Take care child, I will see you again".
And as the fairy had first appeared, she was gone.
Elvina gently picked the flower, and hurriedly went home, being careful not to break the delicate petals.

"Mum, mum". Where are you mum"?
"Elvina, I am in the bedroom. What’s wrong"?
Elvina hurriedly rushed into the bedroom, presented her mum with the flower and told her all that had happened. Her mother still teary eyed from crying, was now smiling, with disbelief. "That's a lovely story Elvina". Exclaimed her mother, not sure whether to believe the child, but was gazing at the beautiful flower that laid on her lap. "This flower needs water, and will put it in a vase, so we can admire it's beauty. Oh what a lovely sweet scent”. Said mother, as she got out of bed.

All mothers worries, now forgotten as she helped Elvina put the flower in the vase and mounted it on the kitchen window.
Elvina knew her mother was thinking of her father. Elvina was very little when her father died. To see her mother smiling, warmth Elvina’s heart. Elvina gave the flower to someone she loved, although it did not heal her mother's pain, it did how ever remind her mother of the happy times with life.

"When you were little, your daddy loved you very much, he used to take you everywhere. You loved being bounced on daddy's knee. I remember when you grabbed a dandy lion and gave it to your daddy as a present. I still have it in the photo album. Mum disappeared in her bedroom and came back out with a baby album, it was covered in velvet blue. It was very dusty, like it never been touched in along time.

Elvina’s mother sat next to Elvina, cuddling Elvina in her arms, they shared all the happy moments when Elvina was a little child. Her father smiling at her in the photo's, cuddling Elvina’s mum and Elvina cuddled between them. As they sat there gazing at the warm memories, there outside the window next to the flower was the fairy with a delightful smile, and there next to the fairy was Elvina’s father's spirit, contented to see that his loved ones were all well.
After looking at the album, mother and Elvina got up and both gazed at the kitchen window where the flower was, the fairy was no longer there. I will treasure it always, thank you Elvina. Elvina was not only thinking of treasuring the flower, but also all the wonderful memories.
Elvina gave her mum a big, big hug. Me too Elvina said, remembering all the fairy had told her. Will treasure it always.

Elvina grew up into a wonderful women, she worked where she could help people deal with pain and loss and healed many people thru her loving giving heart.

And true to her promise the fairy came and visited her here and there, but never saw her after the age of sixteen. But the memories were still strong in her heart.

Through wholesome giving we shall receive life's many joy's.
Don't over look life's simplest treasure, "Giving".
